Let's start with YOGA
A combination of physical and mental exercise giving strength, agility and time for yourself
Yoga helps us become less mentally stressed or anxious
Just do it and see for yourself
If you have never joined a yoga class here is your chance to talk to the experts. If you enjoy a regular yoga practice I think there is a class here that you will enjoy
The benefits of regular yoga include:
-
learning how to focus our mind and our breath
-
increased energy and stamina both physical and mental
-
becoming more aware of our body's capabilities, muscle tone, flexibility of our joints and overall strength
-
giving us real emotional stability
-
It is not competitive as we are all physically and mentally different young or old, fit or unfit
-
We are at different stages in life with different past and present injuries
N.B. If you have any injuries, speak to the yoga teacher before joining a class and depending on your state of health,
consult your doctor or physiotherapist as adjustments specific to you are easy to accommodate within yoga practices

Yoga with Su Sareen (a gentle and yet strong practice) www.susareen.com
Su Sareen started yoga 30 years ago and has been teaching for over 20 years. Firstly Iyengar trained and then introduced to the beautiful, simple and powerful discoveries of Vanda Scaravelli (through John Stirk, with whom she is still studying). Su likes to keep developing her style to fit with her life, however, some themes remain constant, like listening to and working with the body on a day to day basis and paying total attention to what is actually happening on each particular practice while using the breath and gravity
Su has now written two books and writes for Yoga & Health magazine and has also written articles for the the magazine of the British Wheel of Yoga. For more about her work and classes see www.susareen.com
Su is running classes online at the moment and is very happy to connect with you and discuss joining these classes if you would like to. Su will offer a free trial week for anyone new. Please contact her on email: susareen@gmail.com, to discuss your ability and any injuries you have

Adriene Mishler is an international yoga phenomena with Benjy her dog
https://www.youtube.com/user/yogawithadriene
Adriene Mishler is an actress, writer, international yoga teacher and entrepreneur from Austin, Texas. On a mission to get the tools of yoga into schools and homes, Adriene hosts the popular YouTube channel Yoga with Adriene, an online community of over 7 million viewers. Yoga with Adriene provides high quality practices on yoga and mindfulness at no cost to inspire people of all ages, shapes and sizes
I found Adriene years ago and when I have been unable to get to a class or unable to spend money on classes, she has been there, often with Benji her dog and she delivers her classes in a very relaxed and honest way. Of course she is young and bendy so if you try YWA …. Make sure you choose a suitable level of class. We are not all so practiced or built the same way
Equipment for yoga can be as little as just a mat ..... this stops you slipping which is very important...
