Art for Mind & Spirit

Art washes from the soul, the dust of everyday lifePablo Picasso

Art helps everyone in so many ways to develop and learn life skills,

and no you do not need to have done it before....

Art: noun, the expression or application of human creative skill, typically in a visual form such as drawing/painting, sculpture, film and theatre; producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

All art affects our mind and our soul and can make the world a better place ... if we let it.  Whether it is painting, drawing, or taking photographs to inspire your creativity .... it all develops the brain, increasing attention to the details of what we see. It strengthens focus, requires concentration and practice, and forges interaction with the world

Trying and practising teaches risk taking, and being open to things developing and turning out differently from how originally intended. Good, different or better it helps us to realise that ideas are fluid and can turn out well despite our intentions to be perfect!  Why do we want to be perfect?

Creating art is important, TIME FOR YOU.   Once you have committed ..... it relieves stress, encourages creative thinking, helps us to see the world, be more curious and gives us a whole range of mental health benefits. You may be a natural but if you don't try you will never know. Art is for everyone, not just when we are young!

Art promotes a love for creativity and gives you a chance to explore your creativity that you may have forgotten or did not know existed. Practicing art supports emotional intelligence, and feelings that may not be put into words. There can be such strong feelings behind a piece of artwork and you may learn how to express yourself through the medium and find a world of joy, release, excitement, calm

Art also challenges our beliefs and encourages us to be open-minded; it helps us to think around a situation and enables us to realise that there is more than one answer to our challenges. It is time out.

I believe art helps us live a more balanced and calm existence!  So like exercise, find time in your day to realise a moment of art

Photographic art - let's build a gallery

Photography - this is so easy to do now that we have cameras on our phones!!!  Let's create a JaxOn Living gallery?

While you are doing your daily exercise, spending time with the family, shopping or when you spy something inspirational, take time to notice it and take the picture. Try and be conscious of a moment when something makes you calm, smile or inspires you.  I bet we will capture the beauty around around us (even if it does not feel like a beautiful day) ....
